Our Work

Scroll through for some highlights from our projects and programming.

"Health for the People" Reading Group

This Spring, Lunas held our first monthly online reading group, Health for the People. Throughout our meetings, participants engaged in discussions concerning the development of the US healthcare system, privatization of healthcare and its implications, as well as sharing their own personal experiences in healthcare. We have explored questions such as “How has our society’s perspective on health evolved over time?” and “How do we make healthcare more accessible?”. Read some reflections from participants in our Instagram page.

Typhoon and Flood Relief

As part of our climate campaign, Lunas conducts ongoing typhoon relief and rehabilitation efforts in the Philippines, a country vulnerable to an average of 20 typhoons annually. These relentless storms often result in widespread devastation, causing displacement, infrastructure damage, and loss of lives, highlighting the critical need for sustained support to aid communities in recovery and build resilience against future natural disasters.

On February 9th, 2024 Lunas teamed up with the Nonoy Librado Development Foundation to provide emergency relief packages to over 400 families affected by the flooding in Mindanao, Philippines. In addition, Lunas helped connect community members with materials and workers to build a canal in hopes of reducing the impacts of flooding in the future. Read more about this in our blog.
