Mission
Lunas-USA strives to raise the consciousness of the world community on the realization of the human right to health, with a specific focus on the impacts of climate change on marginalized communities in Asia.
Vision
Lunas envisions a future where the healthcare systems around the world are free from abuse, harm and degrading treatment and practices. Lunas envisions a future where all people have access to safe and dignified healthcare especially including women and girls, those living in poverty, people with disabilities, migrants, differently abled populations, and sexual and gender minorities.
Core Beliefs
Healthcare is a human right
No one should get sick or die due to poverty and/or lack of access to health services. All people have the fundamental right to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health. In order for this right to be realized, other basic rights like access to safe food, water, housing, information and education must be upheld.
Solidarity across borders creates lasting change
In an increasingly interconnected world, we recognize that regional, national and international solidarity is essential to the successful promotion of public health. As such, Lunas Global Health Network - USA commits to creating and sustaining meaningful partnerships with individuals, grassroots organizations, institutions and any other entities working to uphold the human right to health.
Education and collaboration lead to transformative action
Education is the first step in raising awareness and building a sustainable support network. We work to raise awareness surrounding the worsening climate and public health crises in Asia in order to empower the international community to take action.
